LAWRENCEVILLE - Sidewalks will soon be under construction on West Price Road from Price Hills Court to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and continuing on Peachtree Industrial to the future North Gwinnett Middle School. Right and left turn lanes for the school entrances will also be built on both West Price Road and Peachtree Industrial.

A second project approved Tuesday by the Board of Commissioners will add sidewalks on the north side of Meadow Church Road from Premier Parkway to connect to existing sidewalks on Old Peachtree Road. Strickland and Sons Pipeline, Inc. was the lowest of seven bidders at almost $1.3 million for these projects.

Another contract for $633,444 went to CMES, Inc., the lowest of five bidders to build sidewalks on Old Snellville Highway from Leisure Lake Drive to Crews Middle School and on Lakeview Road from State Route 84 to Graystone Parkway in Grayson. Both projects will connect to existing sidewalks.

DOT Director Brian Allen said voter-approved SPLOST programs are funding all of these projects.
